The 3 Best Household Items for Sex

Question: I want to try new things during sex - but the toys and gear are just so expensive. Are there any household items I can use?

Household items that can double as sex toys? Sure. This is totally possible. Here are my three favorite.

Ice Cube Tray

In the morning, before you get down and dirty, make sure your ice trays are full and ready to go. Planning ahead is key. We recommend ice cubes as a starting off point. There is no mess and if you aren’t feeling it, you can always swallow the ice or throw it down the sink. No muss, no fuss.

The nipples are a hot zone. Pun intended. Run the cold object around their nipples and then over each one. Take note of how your partner responds. If they are clearly enjoying themselves, move down their body. Focus on the inner thighs and hip bones. If you want to engage their penis or vulva, do so last. If you’re wondering where to start or aren’t sure what your partner might like, you can always ask them! Not everyone wants a frozen object on their clitoris. Proceed with cautious enthusiasm.

T-Shirt

You don’t even have to buy a blindfold to try sight deprivation. To find out if being blindfolded is something that sexually excited you, start with things you have lying around the house. A cotton tee-shirt is an ideal blindfold. Place it over your head and pull up the neck to just above your nose. The rest of the tee-shirt should be covering your eyes and forehead. See? A homemade blindfold just like that.

Have your partner kiss you all over your body. They can massage you with essential oils, too. Then, the sexy stuff can really get underway. While spanking and wrist tying is fun, start with the blindfold alone. Your partner can use their hands to restrain you, if you’re comfortable with that. Pinning your hands above your head while they feel all over your body with their free-hand can be very hot.

A wooden spoon

A wooden spoon is an excellent toy for spanking. When you’re ready to move on from a flat palm, this is a good next step. Be sure the spoon is on the newer side and if possible, finished. You don’t want to give your partner any splinters in their rear.

Use the back of the spoon as the paddle. Don’t hit full force. Work your way up to more intense strokes. Remember, always ask your partner if something feels good or is too rough. As beginners, it can take some time to get your bearings.
