Why People Like Having Sex In Front of Mirrors

QUESTION: I’ve always loved having sex in front of mirros. If there’s a mirror, I’m gonna have sex in front of it. What’s with that? Am I normal?

Why people love having sex in front of mirrors.

Some people love watching themselves having sex in the mirror because form of auto-eroticism, the thrill of starring in your own porn movie, the voyeuristic aspect, the visual appeal.

We’re into mirrors for a variety of reasons, but we’ll stick to the two main ones for the purposes of clarity and brevity: Voyeurism and porn. It's actually known as auto-ertoticsm and it's very common. Watching yourself can make sex feel even more erotic because it's like watching yourself in your own erotic film - at least, that's one reason. Some people may also find themselves incredibly sexy (as they should) and get turned on by the noises and faces the make during sex.

Voyeurism is the act of watching two people have sex (most of the time without them knowing you’re there). This is a common sexual fantasy, though obviously not OK to act out unless all parties involved have consented to the watching and being watched. This is how mirrors help to make that fantasy come to life: You get to have sex and watch yourselves at the same time.

How incorporating mirror sex can help to spice up your sex life.

Adding mirrors is a great way to spice up your sex life because it's something new and exciting - without being TOO much, if you're just starting to experiment with the taboo and kinky. Everyone (almost everyone) has a mirror and that makes them very accessible as a sexual tool. You get to see yourself enjoy being touched, watching your partner do things to your body while you do things to theirs. It’s pretty hot.

When you’re used to being “in” on the action, seeing it from the “outside” can be a major turn on. It's all that lovely voyeurism, one of the top things people fantasize about. Sexuality is tied closely to the visual experience - like all senses. the more we connect to our senses, the more present we are in our bodies during sex.

How to incorporate mirrors into your sex life.

Get yourself a full-length mirror, if possible. Just be sure whatever mirror you have is big enough for both your bodies to fully fit inside the frame.

You’ll want to place the mirror across from your bed. Or, at the very least, where you can turn on the bed and see yourselves in the mirror. Usually the best place is on the largest wall in the room.

You don't just have to be on the bed to get up in that mirror action. Lean your hands against the mirror while standing, have your partner enter you from behind. You’ll get an up-close view of everything happening to you. You can also stand against the mirror while your partner goes down on you while on his or her knees, giving them an excellent view of your juicy booty.

Be sure the mirror is steadily reinforced. Use a stud-finder to locate the two-by-fours along your wall. You do not want to lean your hands (or butt) against a mirror lain into drywall. It will fall and you will injure ourselves.
